Oakridge Pheasant Ranch

Our History

1939

1939

Steve & Stella Zindl started with 4 Ringneck and 2 Golden Pheasants as a backyard hobby in Brown Deer, Wisconsin.

1949

The farm moved to Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.

1949

1957

Oak Ridge grew to 6 acres and 2,200 birds were raised.

1958

Steve & Stella purchased 75 acres in Sussex, Wisconsin and 8,000 birds were raised.

1970

1980

Steve & Stella sold the farm to Jim & Lynn Zindl. The farm raised 37,000 birds that year.

1993

Jim grew Oak Ridge to raise 100,000 birds a year.

1994

Jim and son Tim purchased 157 acres in Ixonia, Wisconsin. Construction of pens and pole buildings and transfer of equipment began.

1997

1999

Oak Ridge Pheasant Ranch moved to Ixonia, Wisconsin.

2001

Tim and his wife Kim, purchased Oak Ridge Pheasant Ranch from Jim & Lynn Zindl.

2010

2010

Oak Ridge Pheasant Ranch produced 150,000 birds.

2012

A milestone is reached as Hunter’s Creek Club in Metamora Michigan purchases their one millionth pheasant from us. Our relationship with them has lasted over fifty years and spans three generations!
